one room done, many to go

After watching more tutorial I switched from SLADE3 Map Editor to Ultimate Doom Builder (running with Wine in Lutris Flatpak). Being able to align the working grid with linedef and quick texture alignment (again with linedef) are just too good not to switch.

I finished the storage room. I used the good ol’ UAC crates textures. They are still pretty simple so they don’t fit too much out of place. Not-aligned and multi-sized boxes weren’t the best idea lighting-wise. There is no way to keep my sanity and do proper lightning using just sectors. But I think I managed to get the lighting to look good-enough.

The map and textures are now available for download if you wan’t to see it moving.

This is looking really great. I started drawing some crates earlier, that should fit with the rest of the texture more closely. Here’s a sneak peek…

😍🤤

I used 3 sizes of square boxes: 64, 32 and 16 pixels. 2/1 or 3/2 ratio boxes would be nice too.

Oh yeah, I’ve mostly got you covered. I have 64x64, 64x32, and 32x32, but no 16x16 yet.

I just added some 32x16 and tiny 16x16 crates in the latest version! Enjoy!

Good luck! I like classic DOOM! I like it in Chocolate Doom,GZ DOOM! I use source ports to play doom today. IT is very exciting game! With monsters and techno style, gothic demons style. Good luck with map, man!
